“If We Are The Body”
written and sung by Casting Crowns
It’s crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girl’s teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the body
Why aren’t His arms reaching?
Why aren’t His hands healing?
Why aren’t His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren’t His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
Jesus payed much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
Jesus is the way

Jon and Holly (nee DeRoche) Barrett are Mechanical Engineers working as project managers to build a new medical facility in South Asia. Follow their blog to see how the work is progressing and how Jon and Holly are doing. Their work in Bangladesh has pretty well finished up and they are back here working in the province again but I’m sure they will be following the completion of the hospital project closely.
They work with ABWE – Across Borders for World Evangelism “Glorifying God by assisting churches to achieve their local and international mission objectives.”
Dianne Friesen is working with Eskasoni First Nation which is the largest Mi’kamq community in the world. Her brand new blog has just been launched and you can find it here.

Here at Long Creek we have developed a personal connection with Watoto Ministries, having had teams from our church travel to Uganda on a number of occasions. The primary focus of Watoto is to rescue orphaned children and vulnerable women. Their webpages give a clear picture of what they do and how you can become involved whether it is sponsoring children, mothers or teachers or going there to serve.
There are many organizations where children-at-risk all over the world are being helped. The adopted child supported by our Sunday School happens to be with World Vision. There are many children waiting for your help.
