Lend a Hand – Long Creek folks please take note:
We often hear of families in our community experiencing life’s ups and downs who would appreciate assistance with a few meals or maybe just a helping hand. If you would like to help in any way and by doing so, extend the love of Christ to the community, we’d be happy to hear from you. This is how: using our Contact Page , please indicate your interest to help in your message by directing it to the attention of Steven Perry.
“If We Are The Body”
written and sung by Casting Crowns
It’s crowded in worship today
As she slips in trying to fade into the faces
The girl’s teasing laughter is carrying farther than they know
Farther than they know
But if we are the body
Why aren’t His arms reaching?
Why aren’t His hands healing?
Why aren’t His words teaching?
And if we are the body
Why aren’t His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
There is a way
A traveler is far away from home
He sheds his coat and quietly sinks into the back row
The weight of their judgmental glances
Tells him that his chances are better out on the road
Jesus payed much too high a price
For us to pick and choose who should come
And we are the body of Christ
Jesus is the way
Do some “branching out” of your own
There are lots of ways to help through organizations that are already in place… here are some we encourage you to check out:
The Island Pregnancy Centre in Charlottetown is a local faith based agency who provides caring support and ongoing assistance to women and teens facing an unplanned pregnancy or who need support during pregnancy or help with parenting. Their services are free and confidential.
We are a non profit community-based food bank for rural families . We are available by appointment – a message can be sent on their Facebook page. Donations can be left at South Shore Pharmacy. A note from those who began this service in the community of Crapaud: ‘we just saw a need and it went from there….we are a non profit community-based food share for rural families… We rely solely on donations.’ They are not a registered charity, totally grassroots, but the organizer mentioned the response has been very much appreciated
